Oct. 28th, 2024 10:32 pmI released my new cover of the spooooky aaaancient Lemon Demon song "Elsewhere" as a single just in time for Halloween!! :D This song was the closer to his first album "Clown Circus" which I completely ripped off the album art of just so people browsing know it's THAT song called Elsewhere, I guess. I intentionally removed the ending for the single version, so you're gonna have to listen to my new album to find out what it is. MUAHAHAHAHAAAAAAA.... consequently, that track also had a sound effect that was meant to be in the song, so the single version is lacking that one sound effect... I noticed this after I released it obviously :P
look out for another TERRIFYING single in like... a day... ooOOooOOOoo

It's the most annoying thing ever that AFTER I decide to start releasing stuff as my actual name, Dylan Hoffman, people with the same name have just been appearing out of nowhere all of a sudden. Like where were you guys at any point in human existence BEFORE I started using this name???
So now I feel like I'm gonna have to come up with a catchy, unique moniker that I'll be happy to stick with for the foreseeable future... except...

- I got nothing - aside from Dylo which isn't that unique, many many people already use it
- That'd be an absolute pain, especially considering the fact that I'm starting to grow as a musical artist under this name

Oct. 22nd, 2024 10:18 pmWell, today I felt pretty good :) not feeling sick like I did yesterday anymore and I finished off the ICT part of my course. Earlier, I updated my website to look nicer and link to this very webpage! So now people might actually find these journal things.

I really hope I can gain more fans as I make more music, it'd be awesome to have a nice community who enjoy it. I feel like it'd be very welcoming.
Also I forgot to mention, the next thing I'm doing in my course is developing my own game! Based on my own idea that I'll eventually come up with! I made one already but all I (and the rest of the class) did was follow a tutorial and put a slight unique spin on it, for example, I made the camera top-down and added post processing effects to make it look C64-ish even though it was 3D, and composed my own soundtrack/sfx in BeepBox.
I wore this beautiful shirt to my course today, which is a custom shirt I got really cheap off AliExpress:
It was immediately named "the most baller-ass shirt" by someone and bought tremendous jollyness to several people including my instructor who is cool. My favourite description of it is still "heavenly" which was said by one of my friends when I sent them that photo.
(btw that is a TMBG Flood Tour 2024 shirt under it! I saw them a few weeks ago and it was super awesome)
Last thing I'd like to share for today is this YouTube video: "Dad Tries Out Windows Vista Speech Recognition (2007)" I ended up watching it again after months and it still makes me cry laughing, it's probably my favourite OSFirstTimer video, and OSFirstTimer is one of my favourite channels. It wasn't really acknowledged, but one of the things that got me the most is at 27:14 when Ben says "appearance and personalization" and Windows Vista hears "Adherents and the SMS Ocean"

Last night I finished off a promotional poster thingy of something that appeared in my head while finishing up the new album...
A studio pic of me and Clavbot recording stuff! Spoiler: I use that clav preset a LOT, same with flexatones.
I'd like to include it as a poster in the CDs or just sell it seperately, but I don't know. I think I'll have to release the album long before being able to make the CDs. It's basically ready right now, but I don't wanna release it randomly, gotta set out a good plan which is something I have not done yet.
Last night I also figured out how to customize my theme and mood icons, unfortunately I can't upload my own mood icons even though I thought I could (imagine a slightly sad emoticon here)
Anyway, I really hope people buy (or take if it gets to that) the CDs! I'm putting in extra work to make them look super cool and even including bonus stuff on them. Honestly, I don't really have CD-buying fans yet though. Except a fraction of my family. I'm mostly just making them for myself cause I like designing them XD but I'd still LOVE for people to own them!! I hope people somehow end up finding them!
Maybe that'll be through a music video or something... I have ideas for a music video and some storyboarding stuff in Premiere Pro, but I'm really secretly pretty behind on it. It's kinda holding back the entire thing, aside from all the uncertainty and waiting for the CD stuff. This'd be easier if Kunaki still shipped OUTSIDE THE USA. But they wouldn't look as cool that way so whatever.
Since my birthday and Christmas are coming up, I think I'd like to just buy as much CD supplies as possible and then set up a shop on my website for them :)
